Wiltshire Neighbourhood Watch
What is NHW all about? Put simply it’s about bringing neighbours together to create strong, friendly, active communities.
By doing that we create the space where crime and antisocial behaviour are less likely to happen.
Our Vision is that of a caring society that is focused on trust and respect in which people are safe from crime and enjoy a good quality of life. Neighbourhood Watch is about making sure that fewer people feel afraid, vulnerable or isolated in the place where they live.
Where is the information when you need it most? Here is a great place to start. Information has been put into useful categories that suit your level of involvement within NHW or simply if you are just curious. Click on the Tab above that suits you best.
Neighbourhood Watch has the biggest voluntary membership of any UK organisation, growing since the introduction of the first scheme at Mollington, Cheshire in 1982 to the current total of over 165,000 Schemes covering up to 25% of all households.
Behind its success lies the simple fact that creating these stronger local communities, and working with your local council and our Police, leads to safer communities and deters local crime and anti-social behaviour.
Neighbourhood Watch Areas are based on the corresponding Community Policing Teams.
